    Masonry is a good career option. Masonry is a family of crafts that include brick and block masonry, fireplace construction, and specialized brick and block construction.
    Work in the masonry field is a combination of physical and mental activity. Skills to master the tools of the trade along with efficient work habits brings quality work that will stand the test of time. An understanding of mathematics and it's application to building materials complements blueprint reading and jobsite organization.
    Current River Area Vocational School offers Brick Masonry to 11th and 12th grade high school students and to adults. The class meets five days a week, mornings only, for three hours per day. To receive the full benefit of the training, two years of training is recommended, but not required.

Employment Outlook:
    Employment for masons looks bright with an estimated demand of 14,000 additional masons needed per year for the next ten years. The skills you learn will never become obsolete.
