| Description: |
Special services are available for students with special needs or disabilities. In order to enhance opportunities for special needs students, the vocational school employs a Vocational Resource Educator to help those students. The responsibilities of the VRE are:
-
Assist special needs students in appropriate vocational education placement
-
Provide appropriate vocational opportunities with reasonable objectives
-
Serve as a resource to vocational instructors
-
Act as a liaison with other school and agency personnel, parents, and the community.
The Special Needs Student is enrolled in regular vocational classes and receives, when needed, additional instruction. This is accomplished by cooperation between the Vocational Resource Educator (VRE), HOME school special education instructor, and the vocational instructor.
