Welding is a vocational training program designed to provide the student with the training needed to find employment in the welding or related fields.
Current River Area Vocational School offers Welding to 11th and 12th grade high school students and to adults. The class meets five days a week, morning or afternoon, for three hours per day. To receive the full benefit of the training, two years of training is recommended, but not required.
Recommended coursework before taking welding is General Math, and Algebra I.

| Employment Outlook: |
Employment for welders is expected to increase through the year 2005. Welders with a wide variety of skills will be needed due to the increased level of construction and the number of metal products needed repair.
